Target audience Mainly used in the primary grades (K-5) Can be used in grades 6-8, but not recommended Not for use in high school Exercises used mostly in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5

Instructional Objectives To show kids how to execute basic math operations To develop student’s understanding of the operations To enhance student’s learning through interactive lectures and examples

Use of AAA Math Show how to perform basic operations such as addition and subtraction of decimals Reinforces the use of mental math with multiplying and dividing whole numbers Gives a little head start on basic algebra with equations of 1 and 2 variables

Strengths Gives students the ability to interact with the concept Helps to ease student’s fears of dealing with math Gives students a visual example that can be used to put the operations into use

Weaknesses Can be very distracting to some students Can be a little overwhelming to students just learning the concepts of math (i.e. 1 st and 2 nd graders) Can hinder some student’s ability to grasp the core concepts

My thoughts I think this is a good way to show students how to utilize the rules of math I think it can be distracting for young kids to see all those graphics on the screen at once but the benefits outweigh the risks Overall, this website is a good tool to use in the primary grades and can really help reinforce the core concepts and formulas for math
