Answer Make sure there is order Make economic decisions (make sure needs and wants are met) Make sure people are safe (security) Provide services (roads, schools, etc) for people. In other words: make people satisfied or they’ll want change!

4. Government Intro Question What powers do governments have? Answer Legislative – law making power Executive – power to carry out or execute the law (make it happen) Judicial – power to interpret or judge what the law means.

Answer Autocracy – one person has all of the powers (dictatorships and monarchies) Oligarchy – a group of people has the power (communism) Democracy – the people have the power. Two types of Democracy: – direct (all people) – representative (choose people to make laws for them)
