2  How many units do you need for promotion to each grade level?  From 9 th to 10 th 5 units  From 10 th to 11 th 11 units  From 11 th to 12 17 units  To graduate 23 units ( in all the right places)

3  Students must pass at least five classes each semester in order to participate in sports or other extra-curricular activities. You must be considered “on-track.”  5 units after 9 th grade  10 units after 10 th grade  16 units after 11 th grade

7  You may earn Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) credit by attending classes at the College and Career Academy  In order to attend the College and Career Academy, you must earn 1unit in English and 1unit in Math  Therefore, you must pass your entire year of English and your entire year of Math

10 Your units will post to your transcript in January and June of each school year. Complete your graduation checklist when your units post.

11 Foreign language is no longer a requirement for graduation; HOWEVER, all 4 year University System of Georgia schools require at least 2 consecutive units of the same modern language.

12  AP classes- A passing AP test score earns college credit  Dual enrollment- University of West Georgia and West Georgia Technical College  Dual enrollment for Technical programs- West Georgia Technical College  Ecore- Online classes through the University of Georgia System. 13  Your EOC will count as 20% of your second semester grade in:  9 th grade Lit./Comp  Physical Science  Coordinate Algebra

14 You must have 4 units in courses that are considered rigorous in order to be considered for the Hope Scholarship 1. Advance math, such as Advanced Algebra or Trigonometry 2. Advance science such as Chemistry, Physics or Biology III 3. Advanced placement courses (AP)/Advanced Foreign Language 4. College courses taken at a unit of the University System of Georgia (in core subjects.)

15  Honor Status requires a 3.5 GPA—keep your grades up  To be a Carroll County Scholar, you will need a 3.5 in your CORE classes  HOPE GPA is based only on CORE classes—do your best in Math, English, Science, Social Studies and Foreign Language  Senior privileges are based on grades, attendance, and discipline—come to school, make good grades, follow school rules and stay out of trouble
