38 We should be able to construct a curriculum (and guide students through it with effective advising) that helps them move steadily toward their goals. This is not incompatible with student learning or exploration. We must examine our curriculum and the evidence of its effectiveness or flaws so that we can improve it. The longer we take to make systemic changes that help students to learn and succeed, the more likely it becomes that someone will impose change upon us.
