Homework 20 minutes per evening, Monday through Thursday. Due the next school day for full credit. Late assignments downgraded one letter grade for each day it is late. Unfinished class work that goes home must be completed and returned the next school day.

Grading and Grade Reports All assignments will be corrected and calculated by a point system which will determine the final grade for each report card marking. Gradelink login information is going home with you tonight. You will be able to review your child’s current average in each subject.

Our Daily Classes Language Arts: (READING, GRAMMAR, WRITING, PHONICS, SPELLING) Hard covered reading book arranged by weekly units of study along with practice pages to reinforce concepts taught during the daily language arts block. Rotating weekly literacy centers to provide small group instruction and reinforcement of concepts at each student’s reading level.

Our Daily Classes Science: Taught by Miss Polnasek. Classes will exchange twice a week on Wednesday and Friday. Social Studies: Taught by Mrs. Swickard. Studies Weekly magazine will provide the weekly structure to our lessons which align with the Grade Level Content Expectations for Michigan curriculum.

Our Daily Classes Religion: We will be preparing to receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist this school year. Math: Daily packet pages in class to reinforce the Core curriculum lesson. Workbook for additional practice and homework.

Our Daily Classes Handwriting: Workbook and practice worksheet assignments graded for legibility. Keys to legibility taught and reinforced for manuscript print (first half of year) and beginning cursive (second half of year). Correct letter Shape, Size, Spacing, and Slant.
