2. Ms. Chapman’s Second- Grade Class Welcome, students!

3. Welcome to Second Grade!  I will introduce you to second grade and to our classroom.  If you have any questions during my presentation, please raise your hand and wait to be called on.

4. All About Me  My background  I grew up in Wilcox County.  I attended F.S. Ervin Elementary School  My experience  I’ve been teaching for about six years.  My hobbies are reading, walking, fishing, and hunting.

5. My Goals  To give you the help you learn all the skill you need to progress to third grade.  To provide a safe and fun classroom environment.  To help you make new friends and discover new interests.

6. Class Subjects  The subjects we cover during second grade are:  Reading  Math  Science  Social studies  Grammar and Spelling

7. Reading  Reading is very important to all of us.

8. Math  We will learn many new math skills. Some of the things we will do, you might have had in first grade.

9. Science  We will explore the world of science by conducting many experiments.

10. Social Studies  We will learn cool facts about the past.

11. Grammar and Spelling  Grammar  Verbs  Nouns  Adjectives  pronouns  Spelling We learn how to spell hundreds of new words.

12. Music and Art  We will have a chance to do some great art projects throughout the year.

13. Classroom Community  Our classroom is a community. In our community, we have rules to help us get along with each other.  Let’s Look At Our Classroom Rules!!!  Let’s Look At Our Morning Routine!!!

14. Homework  You will have homework every night.  Study vocabulary words  Study spelling words  Read a book Sometimes you will have other homework.
