2. What to do  Work with a partner.  Use a dictionary to find the words in bold.  The blue cards have quotes from Act 1 of Hamlet. The pink cards have a picture of the person who said it and an explanation of what they meant.  Match each blue card with a pink card.

3. Hamlet says that he will pretend to be mad.

4. Claudius says that he loves Hamlet like a father loves his son.

5. The ghost says that Queen Gertrude seemed to be a good person.

6. Hamlet says that the ghost is telling the truth when he says that he is his father.

7. Claudius says that he is sad because Hamlet’s father is dead.
