3  Developed 25 years ago by Ken Wyka from New Jersey (later moved to NY) and Patty Hyland from New York  Goal: forum for managers and educators to share information, to maintain contacts with state society leadership, and to provide a networking opportunity  Limited space to encourage small groups and maximum ability to interact  Solicited vendor support to offset cost  Brief attempt to incorporate other neighboring states, not successful

4  Winterclove Inn in the Catskills for all except two years; moved down the road due to some changes in Winterclove management but came back.  No phones or TVs in rooms, and limited rooms means some share and some are in an annex nearby  Somewhat isolated location but easily accessed from both NY and NJ  Attendees do not leave the site, all meals in common, on site activities primarily “on the porch”, also have musical entertainment, bon fire, “resort bowling”  Very informal setting, comfortable and relaxing

20  Not a huge moneymaker  Any profit after expenses is split evenly between New York and New Jersey  Used to be split based on attendance from each state but now attendance is fairly equal so just split evenly
