Poisoning of Dogs Strychnine poison was periodically spread around the city killing over 10,000 dogs each year. This is a horrific way to die. It is dangerous for the environment as well as for people and their pets. Piles of decomposed carcasses are dumped into rivers leading to foul life-threatening water pollution. But the city has agreed to stop poisoning dogs in the areas where KAT works.
