COMMUNITY PLANNING GUIDANCE (Local Government Scotland Act, 2003) ”It is particularly important that communities are involved in the planning and delivery of services at a local level, as it is at this level that agencies can come together to work with communities to address local problems and concerns in a way which cannot be achieved at a Council-wide level alone.”

DUNDEE PARTNERSHIP COMMITTMENT Following the Community Planning Guidance, the Dundee Partnership is committed to: placing communities at the heart of community planning. promoting effective collective engagement by agencies with communities. developing effective joint working practices between public, private and voluntary sector bodies. improving the connection between national and local priorities. achieving agreed outcomes and targets. promoting active citizenship, community capacity and social inclusion.

LOCAL COMMUNITY PLANNING Supporting the Process The Communities Department of Dundee City Council were charged with leading the process. The Neighbourhood Partnership Networks provide a mechanism for co-ordinating partner agencies input. The Building Stronger Communities Theme Group and the Community Learning Partnership provide strategic direction and support. The Chief Executive of DCC meets NPN Chairs and Communities Officers every 2 months Local Community Plans formally approved by the Dundee Partnership Management Group and Dundee City Council.
