NEVER use your whole name online NEVER post your school, address, or phone number DO be careful what pictures of you are posted DON’T get angry when your parents use child safety controls – they are meant to keep you safe DO talk with your parents about what you do online

Screen names People can tell a lot about you by your screen name – sometimes even your name, your age, and where you live Don’t use your first and last name together Don’t include your age in the name Think about what message your screen name sends. What are some good examples of screen names?
10
Passwords Passwords are important because if someone finds yours out, they can learn private things about you, send out hurtful emails under your name, and really cause you problems. Passwords should be a mixture of lowercase letters, upper case letters, numbers, and maybe even punctuation Never keep your password written down near your computer. Don’t share your passwords with anyone besides your parents. Not even your friends!
