Many owls feed mainly on furry animals such as mice, rats, moles, squirrels and rabbits They also eat insects, worms, spiders, frogs, lizards and small birds Barn OwlGreat Horned Owl

Owls do not chew their food They swallow their prey whole They cannot digest bones, teeth, fur, and feathers Snowy Owl Burrowing Owl

A bird’s stomach has two parts First part: proventriculus, where digestive enzymes and acids are produced to begin the process of digestion Second part: ventriculus (gizzard), serves as a filter and strong muscles roll the undigested pieces into small balls called pellets! The owl coughs this up
