I am writing in response to your ad for a part-time sales person. The fashion merchandising course I am taking in high school has fascinated me. I would like to enter the field of fashion merchandising by working part-time as a salesperson at the High Fashions store in Irvine. The high quality and broad selection of clothes in your stores have always appealed to me. With the knowledge I have gained in my class, I believe I could be a successful salesperson. Additionally, I have a natural fashion sense and my friends often ask me to help the coordinate their outfits. My background and qualifications are described in my resume, which is enclosed. May I have an interview to discuss the possibility of working for High Fashions? I can be reached between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at 555-3647. I look forward to the opportunity to talk with you. Sincerely, Camille Hale

KEEP Remember No matter what the job, there are more applicants than jobs. You are easily replaced. As an employee your primary job is to make your bosses life easier!
14
KEEP Be on time. Do your absolute best. What ever is going on at home isn’t your bosses problem! Cooperate and be polite to everyone no matter how much you don’t like them or find them annoying. Do your job independently rather than waiting to be told what to do.
15
KEEP Ignore office gossip. If someone is talking badly about you let it go. During meetings or gatherings give the leader/speaker your full attention. Do not multi-task. If you resign, give your employer a two week notice. You may need him as a reference some day!
