Documents posted in Doc Sharing that will help you with this project: The Perez Family Case Study Final Project Instructions Final Project format example Unit 7 Seminar PowerPoint (includes more detailed instructions for the final project). The term is coming to a close, there is little flexibility with regard to the final project – turn it in on time. HN144 Seminar Instructor: Dr. Lisa Belfield FINAL PROJECT DUE: Tuesday, June 21st

Middle Adulthood Erikson’s stage: GENERATIVITY versus STAGNATION Adults at midlife are most typically characterized by a new perspective of who they are and a new perspective about their world, including: A new definition of self New expectations about what they want to accomplish New satisfactions in living

Why career goals may change in mid-life: The individual cannot perform the duties of a job. Adults decide that their work is not meaningful to them anymore and search for a different, more meaningful career. The individual may believe they have succeeded as much as possible in a job. A change may come when children are “launched” and there is more time to commit to a career. Displaced homemakers may be forced into the job market by the circumstances of divorce or widowhood. Workers may be laid off due to economic pressures. Source: Newman & Newman (2001).

Social System Social System – “a system is any set of elements that affect or influence one another; a social system is one in which the factor that influences the system and its components are people” (Ashford, LeCroy & Lortie, p. 116).

Others may have a sense of despair during this stage, reflecting upon their experiences and failures. They may fear death as they struggle to find a purpose to their lives, wondering “What was the point of life? Was it worth it?” http://www.learning-theories.com/eriksons-stages-of-development.html
