1. Christmas Gives Humanity Hope

2.  Sin Brought Hopelessness to The Soul  “Hope deferred makes the heart sick” (Proverbs 13: 12a)  The enemy desires that a spirit of hopelessness will be upon humanity (sin, sickness, death, disappointment, disaster, broken relationships, limited future.  He blinds the unbeliever and distracts the believer to God’s awesome HOPE.

3.  We Must Know  “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the HOPE of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.” (Col. 1: 26-28)  Hope was born in Bethlehem!

4.  We Must Believe  We don’t believe in order to make it a reality, we believe in the reality, therefore, making it a personal reality to us.  “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see…” (Heb. 11:1)  Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus…draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith…hold unswervingly to the hope we profess for he who promised is faithful.” (Heb. 10:19…)

5.  We Must Learn To Overcome  Our faith and Hope are clearly connected to perseverance, waiting, and enduring.  “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance…” (Jam. 1:2)  God cannot mature or strengthen the hope that Christ established, it is perfect. But He can strengthen our faith in that perfect hope.
