What is Team Kensington and Chelsea? Team Kensington and Chelsea aims... To build on the rich tradition of volunteering in the Royal Borough To offer residents more opportunities to volunteer - 40% of residents feel they do not have enough time, 23% do not know how to get involved, 23% think their schedule is unpredictable To help organisations to offer volunteering opportunities To support organisations who promote and support volunteering

Supporting and attending partner events to promote both volunteering generally and specific Council opportunities....... and hosting Team Kensington and Chelsea events around the borough

Creating new Council opportunities Community Reporters City Living, Local Life Champions Supporting and implementing best practice and national government priorities

... and taking feedback from public, voluntary and community organisations on how Team Kensington and Chelsea can help make volunteering easier and more accessible in the Royal Borough

Implementation to date... ObjectiveProgress Developing a branding campaign to raise awareness of volunteering Team Kensington and Chelsea launched, brand and promotional materials designed Supporting the Volunteer Centre to develop the Kensington and Chelsea Ambassadors programme Pool of trained volunteers exist to support borough events Encouraging the use of volunteers in Council services Conversations with Volunteer Coordinators in Council held and seminar planned to coincide with VCKC Kitemark Encourage Council employees to participate in volunteering Initial steps to create an Employee Volunteering policy in RBKC Develop a dedicated web-spacewww.rbkc.gov.uk/volunteer

Next steps... To build on the rich tradition of volunteering: Grow Team Kensington and Chelsea presence around the borough Navigate Employee Volunteering policy for the Council Strengthen borough-based volunteer fairs Increasingly share best practice both within the Council and through the Team K&C web pages To support organisations who promote and support volunteering: To help organisations to offer volunteering opportunities
