Relief print is a printmaking process where the protruding surface faces of the matrix (printing plate or block) are inked; recessed areas are ink free. “Carve away the empty or negative space”.

BRAYER A PLASTIC ROLLER USED TO APPLY PRINTING INK OR PAINT TO A PRINTING PLATE. Barren Tool used for distributing even pressure when transferring ink from a printing plate to paper or fabric. CARVING TOOLS TOOLS USED TO CREATE IMPRESSIONS IN EITHER WOOD/ LINOLEUM/RUBBER FOR MAKING RELIEF PRINTS. PRINTING INK EITHER ACRYLIC OR WATER BASED INK USED TO MAKE PRINTS TRANSFERED FROM PRINTING BLOCKS (Not Paint !) Printing Block Block of rubber/wood/linoleum which will be used as the surface to cut in.
