Hierarchy: Lord: Ruler/ Powerful land owner Knights: Armed warriors (pledged loyalty for protection) Peasants/ Serfs: (not free to leave) worked the lords land

Monarchs During Feudal times: 2.4 Front: Monarchs kept order and supplied protection to their vassals. Back: William the Conqueror: After his victory at the battle of Hastings in 1066, William brought the ideal of feudalism to England. ( for Franklin: Harold (England) control eye) Willie won! Chaos aaha, feudalism

Lords and Ladies/ What were their responsibilities? 2.5 Front: Lords managed and defended their manors (like judges) 2.5 Front: Fought for their own lords in times of war appointed officials Back: Women: raised children oversaw the house hold!

Knights/ Responsibilities: Front 2.6: Knights mounted soldiers, were supposed to Loyal Protect (helpless) Fair Back: Chivalry rules expected to live by: Ride a horse Sing Fight

Peasants During Feudal Times: 2.7 Front: Most peasants worked at raising crops/ livestock Peasants paid taxes to the lords. Back: Peasants worked in the fields, care for families, and homes
