By setting up weather monitoring systems and networking them will enable to see the variation of the above parameters online
The automated weather station developed by ITI have the capability of transmitting the weather parameters to central location through RF link or GSM network.

To set up an early warning system for land slides 35 rain gauges were set up in land slide possible areas
Real time rain fall data from each station updates in central rain fall server in colombo
Depending on the set threshold levels considering the 24 hour rain fall, the warning alerts generated by the system
The server send SMS to respective officers to take necessary decisions and issue early warning
