2 Sphinx Sphinx is a Grid Scheduler for Data Intensive Applications –Accounts for CPU, Storage, Band Width Resources Scheduling decisions based on global views providing a Quality of Service –Particularly in a resource limited environment Extensible, flexible framework Co-Led by Ranka and Cavanaugh Expected Ph.D. Theses : –In (Quality of Service), –Chitnis (Global Views), –Kulkarni (High Bandwidth Applications) VDT Server VDT Client ? Recommendation Engine

3 CAVES & CODESH Concentrate on the interactions between scientists collaborating over extended periods of time Seamlessly log, exchange and reproduce analysis results (and the corresponding methods, algorithms and programs) –Automatic and complete logging –reuse of work or analysis sessions Enable users to work in their habitual way –giving them virtual data capabilities –Build collaboration suites (stay close to users!) Led by Bourilkov First prototypes use popular tools: Python, ROOT and CVS; e.g. all ROOT commands and CAVES commands available
