2 November 13, 2015 Volunteerism ACA’s 2015 community service project will serve the City of Moore’s Buck Thomas Park. Scheduled for November 13, 2015, The Colt’s Project will include over 150 volunteers comprised of ACA students, parents, faculty, and administration. Volunteers will devote a full-day of community service to the 129- acre Moore park complex. The day of service will consist of painting, planting, building, restoring, cleaning and developing the complex for the Moore community. VOLUNTEERISM PARTNERSHIP LOVE IN ACTION “The Colt’s Project teaches our children the importance of serving our community while also raising funds to enhance educational programs for the school.” - ACA Administrator Ron Yocum.

3 2015 COLT’S PROJECT November 13, 2015 Partnership The Colt’s Project will donate 10% of all funds raised to support LifeTroops, an Oklahoma City based non-profit serving military members and veterans struggling with PTSD and other combat related illnesses. Through The Colt’s Project, our students get to serve their community, raise funds for their school, and partner with a non-profit that supports those who serve or have served our country.” - Project Volunteer and ACA parent Cindy Megonigle

4 2015 COLT’S PROJECT November 13, 2015 Love In Action At ACA, we are committed to teaching our children the importance of servanthood leadership. One way for us to put this in practice is through love in action. Our students will have the opportunity to love on the City of Moore through beautifying and enhancing it’s largest park. In addition, our children will be partnering with the LifeTroops ministry to show support to our service men and women. VOLUNTEERISM PARTNERSHIP LOVE IN ACTION

5 Who Is Involved? SERVICE PARTNERSHIP LOVE IN ACTION ― All students are expected to participate in the service project and the fundraising ― Parents are asked to help their student(s) secure sponsors and volunteer to help on Colt’s Project Day 2015 ― Younger siblings are allowed to attend the day of the project but parents will be responsible for them What if it Rains? ― WE WILL WORK IN THE RAIN!!! Colts Project Day will take place unless the weather is dangerous or threatening to become dangerous. ― In case of inclement weather including weather below freezing or thunderstorms with lightening, you will receive a call from the school the morning of the project with instructions and a make-up date. What Do I Bring? ― Supply lists will be sent home on or before October 14 th with specific tools/items that students and volunteers will need the day of the project. ― Everyone will need to bring work gloves and wear closed-toed shoes and long work pants.

SERVICE PARTNERSHIP LOVE IN ACTION ― Working together, we can raise over $50,000 for our school through corporate and individual sponsorships. $50,000 ACA Colts Corporate Sponsor Levels Colts Platinum $1,000 and Above Colts Gold $500 - $999 Colts Silver $250 - $499

7 Packet Instructions SERVICE PARTNERSHIP LOVE IN ACTION Enlosed you will find everything you need to begin your Colts Project 2015 sponsor mailing.  K-2 nd Grade – complete and return 15 sponsor letters  3 rd – 8 th Grade – complete and return 20 sponsor letters  Families with more than 2 students – a maximum of 40 sponsor letters to be completed (divide your list between all of your students) 1.Create a list of family, friends, neighbors, church family, parents’ co-workers, and anyone else you can think of who may be interested in sponsoring you for this event. 2.Personalize each enclosed letter: a)Write your sponsor’s name at the top. b)On the bottom portion (the part your sponsor will return), Please PRINT your sponsor’s NAME, MAILING ADDRESS, CITY, STATE, and ZIP CODE. Our committee will provide a thank you postcard from your student. c)Students need to sign the letter and can write a brief note on the sponsor letter - this will help personalize the request. On the bottom portion, please fill out the student’s first and last name plus grade/teacher next to “Name of Student”. This will ensure your student receives credit for contributions and are able to sign the thank you postcard. 3.Put your completed sponsor letter into the envelope provided and seal. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE ANY OTHER LETTERS OR PAPER IN THE ENVELOPE. SPONSOR LETTERS ARE HAND SORTED BY ZIP CODE AND BULK-MAILED TO SAVE ON POSTAGE. ADDING ADDITIONAL WEIGHT CAN CAUSE THE ENTIRE BATCH TO BE SENT BACK. 4.Address the envelope with your sponsor’s name and address. Bundle sponsor letters together by student and place the completed orange-colored Sponsor Letter Count on the top of the bundle. (This is how we credit each student for 100% participation of sponsor letters turned in by the deadline: Monday, October 5th.)

8 Packet Instructions Continued… SERVICE PARTNERSHIP LOVE IN ACTION In addition to the Sponsor Letter, we have enclosed a few Corporate Sponsorship Letters to be sent to businesses in your network. A big event is the perfect opportunity to draw corporate sponsorships. Please consider businesses in your network that would be willing to participate as a Corporate Sponsor. Here are a few examples of businesses in your network you could send the Corporate Sponsor Letter:  Pediatrician  Attorney  Bank  Place of Employment  Local establishments where you are a patron  Beautician or Barber

9 Follow-up Instructions SERVICE PARTNERSHIP LOVE IN ACTION Packets will be bulk-mailed on Thursday, October 8th. Please make calls to your individual sponsors beginning on Wednesday, October 14th. Here is a sample script: “Hi (Sponsor Name), this is (Insert Your Name). I am a student at Antioch Christian Academy, and on November 13, I will be participating in a volunteer project for the City of Moore. We will be painting, planting, cleaning and restoring Buck Thomas Park. I am following up to the letter I sent requesting your sponsorship. Will you consider helping me reach my goal of $1,000 for my school? Your contribution in any amount will provide supplemental dollars to our school in support of our teachers, curriculum, development, scholarships and more. Thank you!”
