Our Chapter’s Goals Positively impact the community at large through service projects and charitable fundraisers Strengthen the presence and awareness of Osteopathy in the local community Promote fellowship amongst the student body and continue the scholastic standing of its members and its colleagues

To achieve our goals, we: Hold monthly meetings Organize mentoring projects at the Kids Café and the LEAD Program Organize bi-annual Blood Drives Ambassadorship Additional Community Service Projects Fundraise “Boards Survival” Water Bottles Scholarship Auction Hoodie Sale

Monthly Meetings General club meeting the fourth Tuesday of every month Discuss upcoming events and service opportunities Promote open discussion and fellowship among colleagues To fulfill their commitment to SSP, members participate in community service and fundraising events Members are required to complete 12 hours of community service per semester

Mission Statement As a club of scholastic achievement and service, we can best serve our community by mentoring the children of Erie academically and socially

Kids Café Non-profit organization that functions as a soup kitchen for young children SSP members are encouraged to volunteer their time to give homework help to these kids Teaching basic math and spelling

LEAD Program Non-profit organization that mentors teenagers who have had minor altercations with the law SSP members are encouraged to help these students with their homework Credit recovery program allows these students to graduate high school on schedule

Bi-Annual Blood Drives Collaborative effort with Community Blood Bank of Erie, PA Held at LECOM campus every fall and spring since 2002 SSP orchestrates the donations of the students, faculty, staff, and community to ensure efficient collection

Other Events Membership Drive & Induction Daffodil Days Helped to sell daffodils in order to raise donations for cancer research for the American Cancer Society Others: Business Card Fundraiser Sale SSP Lunch/Orientation Ambassadors Holiday Mail for Heroes Blood Drives with Seton Hill University Made backpacks full of clothes and toys for Adelphoi House Organize representatives for Hospital Day

Final Thoughts It is with great enthusiasm that we continually grow and evolve to meet the constant demands and perpetually changing needs of our student colleagues and the community at large.
