LIFE SCIENCE 4 TH GRADE
2
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HERBIVORE AND A CARNIVORE? A herbivore is an animal that eats only plants like, grasshoppers, rabbits, and deer, but a carnivore is an animal that eats only other animals like a bluebird and a fox.
3
WHAT SUBSTANCE PROVIDES THE FUEL FOR MOST FOOD CHAINS? The sun because it feeds the plants which starts the food chain. Say a seed was planted and the sun helped it grow into a plant, Then a grasshopper would eat the plant then it keeps going on and on. With out the sun that food chain would never have happened.
4
They provide shelter for animals by giving them the basic needs such as: food, water, and a dry home. A tree could be a dry home for birds but a flower could be a dry home for a butterfly. How do plants provide shelter for animals?
5
WHY DO SOME PLANTS DEPEND ON ANIMALS FOR SURVIVAL? When a seed is unplanted sometimes they need a animal to plant them. For Example, a sunflower seed was blown away by the wind, but then a bird could come and pick it up and drop it in the dirt.
6
WHY WOULD A PARTICULAR PLANT STRUGGLE OR DIE OUTSIDE ITS NATURAL ENVIRONMENT? It would not have the basic needs like enough sunlight or water. Say a cactus was used to the dessert but then someone put it in a forest it would struggle and eventually die.
7
HOW ARE MICROORGANISMS BENEFICIAL? Since they were the first bacteria on earth they help us by making oxygen and plants. Nobody would be alive without microorganisms.
