3  Dictionary plays an important role in every one’s life. This may range from a school student to a college student, a college student to professor, an employee to an entrepreneur and so on  Most commonly used and famous dictionaries include Oxford, Cambridge, Bikers, Pocket dictionary  The digital dictionary has completely revolutionized the concept of dictionary. This concept of digital dictionary has its root under concept of Green IT i.e. minimum use of paper

4  In the past few years, dictionary has undergone a tremendous change.  Previously dictionary were just used to find the meanings of the words but now it has more additional features like explanation with diagrams, pronunciation, verbs, adjectives etc.  Apart from this dictionary also comes in multiple language translation

5  In past the dictionary were made of papers binded together. This was ok until the paper quality was good enough to withstand several years. The paper quality was important factor to determine the longevity of the dictionary.  These all problems were solved by the concept of digital dictionary.  Still one problem remain in case of both the dictionary was user has to search through the entire dictionary to get the meaning of the word.  In addition, those who are physically impaired by hands will not be able to use traditional as well as digital dictionary. This is also one of the major problems that is faced by many handicapped users.

6  We decided to take digital dictionary one-step further by developing Verbal Dictionary.  Verbal Dictionary will be based on the concept of Voice recognition and Text to Speech conversion.  In this, the user will simply speak the word for which he wants to find the meaning. The Verbal Dictionary engine will automatically process the said word and will display as well as speak the meaning of the word.  In short, Verbal Dictionary allow hands free operation. This will allow handicapped and physically impaired users to use a dictionary in most efficient and easy way.

7  The user will get rid of searching the word in chronological order. This will save a lot of time and user will come to know how the word has to be pronounced.  Currently the verbal dictionary will support only English language and words.

10  The Voice Controlled Web Browser will be developed on.NET platform .NET platform is developed by Microsoft .NET is language independent platform  It supports 4 native and 21 third part languages  Native languages: C#, J#, VB, VC++  Third Party languages: Perl, ruby on rails etc  Voice Controlled Web Browser will be developed using C#
