1 Timothy 6:1-2 Do You Have What it Takes to be a Slave? T

T All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God's name and our teaching may not be slandered. Those who have believing masters are not to show less respect for them because they are brothers. Instead, they are to serve them even better, because those who benefit from their service are believers, and dear to them. These are the things you are to teach and urge on them.

A Slave Must Submit T What Is It? “Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.” – Hebrews 13:17 Who Gets It? “Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.” – Romans 13:5

T A Slave Must Submit Why Do It? “Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything … so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.” – Titus 2:9-10 How Do You Do It? “Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.” – Colossians 3:22

T A Slave Must Serve What Is It? “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:13 Who Gets It? “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.” – 1 Peter 4:10

T A Slave Must Serve Why Do It? “If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. I Peter 4:11 How Do You Do It? “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men.” Ephesians 6:7

Submission Subordination Implicit to subordination is to have no say. Implicit to submission is the individual’s choice. T

T Submission means willingly choosing to let someone else lead. It is an act of choice made to prepare the believer for his own submission to God.
