The Lords Prayer: 3 On earth as it is in heaven; Give us this day our daily bread.
2
The Lord’s Prayer Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom Come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, deliver us from evil Yours is the kingdom, yours is the power And the glory forever, Amen.
3
On earth as it is in heaven. We are praying that earth will reflect heaven. A BIG prayer! No more sickness, sadness, bondage, sin, crying, pain or death!
4
Mahesh Chavda: “We….the church….are the mountain of the house of the Lord. Let us allow the Spirit to revise the inner map of our spiritual imaginations, allowing the narratives of Scripture to inspire strategies and motives and direction in a life of prayer that never fails”.
5
Ephesians 2: 6 “God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus”. We must learn to pray from heaven to earth, and not the other way round! It is NOT impossible. It is NOT the reserve of the few!
6
The Mountain of the Lord The church is the place from which God sends us out to conquer We have a role to play in shaping our society. The church is the place where God has ordained us to be sent out to extend His kingdom. Are we seeing lives changed?
7
Give us this day our daily bread. Our Christian walk and prayer life should be one of daily dependence on God. But we need to recognise that God knows best! We are also called to be agents of blessing to others.
8
2 Corinthians 9: 8 – 11 [Message] God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done. As one psalmist puts it, He throws caution to the winds, giving to the needy in reckless abandon. His right-living, right-giving ways never run out, never wear out. This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you.
9
2 Cor 9: 8 – 11 cont’d [Message] He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God.
10
Conclusion We have been learning about gaining God’s perspective in all aspects of our lives. The more we know and understand the nature of God, the more we will want to be in His presence. And the more we will want to serve Him, with all of our lives.
