“Female” parts make up the pistil. The pistil is composed of: Ovary – eggs develop, fertilization occurs, and seeds mature Style – slender column Stigma – upper surface of style for pollen landing OVARY STYLE STIGMA

“Male” parts are called stamens Consists of a slender stalk called the filament The filament is capped with an anther FILAMENT ANTHER

Inside the anthers are pollen sacs in which pollen grains develop.

Accessory structures form the non-reproductive parts of the flower Petals are often adapted to attract pollinators Sepals are the outermost green leaf like parts Some, such as those on a lily, are almost identical to the petals) PETALS SEPALS
