How it Works The EView agent is a lightweight system with minimal resource requirements that resides on IBM systems, which gathers all data which comes through the operator console and other integration points. Unlike other solutions, there are no requirements for vast amounts of memory and CPU processing on the mainframe. The EView agent narrows down the vast amount of mainframe and iSeries (AS/400) data to your exact requirements before sending the information via a TCP/IP connection into an Intelligent EView Collector. By using a sophisticated and reliable communication method, the agent recognizes if the collector is not available and buffer messages to ensure critical data is not lost. This ensures data is not lost and frees up valuable resources from the IBM system for formatting and logging data. The Splunk Forwarder then sends the information to the Splunk Indexer to where it can be displayed on the Splunk Enterprise console.
