5. Responsibilities Instructors Taking attendance every class accurately and on time International Education Office Sending warning letters to students with 3 unexcused absences. Reporting students’ absences to the Public Security Bureau INTO Office Settling attendance record disputes, and notifying students who have 2 unexcused absences

6. Principles  For academic purpose, full authorization belongs to instructors. Instructors can decide whether to give students short-term leave permission or not. Instructors can decide to send warning letters based on academic requirements and to ban students with poor attendance from taking final exams.  For overall daily performance management, full authorization belongs to Student Management Panel(SMP) SMP deal with students’ appeal if they want to defend themselves from being expelled by the university due to poor attendance. The panel has final say over whether students in violation of the policy are allowed to continue their study or be expelled.

SMP has ultimate authority to expel students based on attendance.  Students who wish to appeal must submit a formal application of appeal, meet with the SMP, provide evidence and give an oral defense.
