Elements are classified into three groups on the Table.

The groups are metals, metalloids and nonmetals.

Elements in the same group have similar physical and chemical properties.

Physical properties are:
Luster = reflect light. (metallic or nonmetallic).

Conductivity = conducts electricity.
Tested with a conductivity meter.

Malleability = can be hammered into sheets without breaking.

Ductility = can be pulled into a thin wire.

Brittle = breaks easily.
