This is a school/district/community support position serving as liaison between the adult center, the district, and the community. Liaisons coordinate on-site events and activities, increasing the opportunity for adult ESOL students to access –community-based resources –supplemental services that support retention and completion Liaisons support school efforts for student retention, completion, and transition.

As a Community Liaison Specialist, you help build awareness of ongoing learning opportunities to make sure that… Every student matters and every lesson counts Every student matters and every lesson counts

assist with student retention, completion, and transition; assist adult ESOL students access U.S. Citizenship; assist adult ESOL students register to vote; help boost students’ level of awareness and engagement in community-based programs, events and/or activities; assist parents increase parental involvement and become active participants in their children’s education.

Attend monthly CLS trainings/meetings; Create an on-site resource center and disseminate learning materials; Build successful community partnerships and coordinate on-site events and programs that benefit your students; Monitor progress and submit data on a monthly basis; and Maintain an updated portfolio. Measures for Accountability:

Administrators receive $8,000 plus fringes to cover the salaries of their Community Liaison Specialist. Administrators are responsible for monitoring their Cliff Reports to ensure that monies are accurately withdrawn from their account. Administrators are responsible for ensuring that the funds are stretched out through June 2010’. Budget:
