2 2 File Management Create Portfolio folder Create PhotoShop subfolder Create Flash subfolder Create Independent Artwork subfolder Place Flash work in independent folders within Flash subfolders to include.fla, html, and swf files

4 4 Prepping Photoshop Images Make all needed corrections Adjust image size if needed Select File  Save for Web Choose Optimized.jpg (.jpeg) Save within Portfolio/Photoshop/

5 5 Add Photoshop Image to Portfolio Create new slide  Title & Content layout or Title, Text & Content layout Click Insert  Picture  From File Browse to Photoshop image as.jpg  Insert

6 6 Prepping and Inserting Flash Movies

7 7 Prepping Flash Movies Make all needed corrections Select File  Publish to create file formats: HTML SWF

8 8 Inserting Flash as.avi Videos Shows movement, but no buttons or movie clips work with this insertion method! (example: motion guide)

9 9 Step 1: Directions within Flash Inserting Movies as.avi Video Works only if no user interactivity on movie Select File  Export  Export Movie Browse to Portfolio/Flash/relevant subfolder Save file image as Windows.avi  Save Video format: 32 bit color w/alpha Sound format: 22 KHz 16 bit stereo Compressor: Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2 Keep boxes checked

10 10 Step 2: Directions in PowerPoint Inserting Movies as.avi Video Create new slide  Title & Content layout or Title, Text & Content layout Click on Insert  Movies and Sounds  Movie from File  OK Click “yes” to play movie automatically or when user clicks it

11 11 Inserting Flash as Interactive Movies Use this method if Flash movie has a movie clip or a button user clicks!

12 12 Importing Interactive Flash Movies Step 1: Capturing Timeline Image Open your.FLA file from Portfolio/Flash/relevant subfolder File  Publish to create.swf and.html files Place red timeline marker at point where desired Flash image rests Select File  Export  Export Image Browse to Portfolio/Flash/relevant subfolder Save file image as.jpg

13 13 Step 2: Add Flash Image to PowerPoint Create new slide  Title & Content layout or Title, Text & Content layout Click Insert  Picture  From File Browse to Portfolio/Flash/relevant subfolder and find the.jpg image from the timeline  Insert

14 14 Step 3: Hyperlinking an Image to a Movie Without distorting, resize Flash image as needed Click on image then click Insert  Hyperlink Link to: Existing File or Web Page Browse to Portfolio/Flash/relevant subfolder with.SWF movie file that correlates with image Run slide  click on image  click buttons on Flash movie to test them

15 15 Electronic Portfolio: Next Step 1. Add relevant learning objectives to showcase each item in portfolio (see rubrics) 2. Place all slides in desired order  start & end strong! 3. Create Table of Contents page Use headings to separate portfolio work Hyperlink each item to its appropriate page 4. On Master Slide, create “back” button and hyperlink back to Table of Contents page

16 16 Final Touches 1. Add final career statement slide: be specific about future career ambitions 2. Refer to printed Electronic Portfolio directions, following closely all requirements 3. Complete Rubric U-Check 4. Be future focused: Take home portfolio and all files electronically and store in safe location!
