Absolute Location Equator Imaginary line that divides the north & south hemispheres O degrees latitude Prime Meridian Imaginary line dividing the east & west hemispheres O degrees longitude AKA: “Greenwich Meridian”

Absolute Location Latitude Locates places north or south of the equator Equator is 0 degrees Longitude Mark positions in the east and west hemispheres Prime meridian is 0 degrees

Relative Location DDescribes how a place is related to its surrounding environment MMore general! CCompares to a known place or landmark UUse D & D (Distance and Direction) Example… HHortonville High School is 1 block north of Kwik Trip

Weather v. Climate Weather is the condition of the bottom layer of atmosphere over a short period of time Climate is the weather pattern experienced over a long period of time
