2 Who We Are Started in 1969 as a Volunteer Service under the Fire Dept. Split in 1981 as an independent agency Serve the Township of Cranberry, Borough of Seven Fields in Butler County and a section of New Sewickley Township in Beaver County In 2013 we ran 3430 calls for service

3 What We Do Along with providing traditional 911 and non emergency treatment and transport we provide: AHA affiliated training site teaching CPR, First Aid, AED, ACLS and PALS to providers and public. Vial of Life Program Yellow Dot Program Public education for injury prevention through the use of being a Child Car Seat Fitting Station and developing a safe biking program with area merchants Fall 2013 Community Medicine Program Launched

4 What is Community Paramedicine? A model of care where EMTs and Paramedics apply their training and skills in “non-traditional” community- based environments (outside the usual emergency response/transport model). Part EMS/Part Social Worker Building Partnerships with nontraditional providers

8 Increased offerings of CPR and First Aid programs Established injury prevention programs Sent 5 staff to get NHTSA Car Seat Technician certification. Became a regional car seat fitting station Working with area merchants to bring bike safety programs Public Education

9 Targeted to new and expectant parents. A four hour visit. Perform a car seat inspection for the parents. Have parents invite friends, family and neighbors over to learn CPR (Up to 12 People). Educate parents on childproofing their home. Educate parents on proper positioning of infants in cribs. Cost $150 per engagement Safe Landings ℠ Program

10 An one hour visit –Vitals and weight check –Medication Reconciliation – Assist with medical or treatments questions, referral to other entities for social services –Assist setting up appointments or making transportation arrangements –Home Safety Check Wellness  ’s ℠

11 “A Peace of Mind” A red flag mechanism to catch issues before they start or while still small. Working with PCPs to better deliver healthcare Monthly Subscription Plan –Cost is $145 single/$170 couple a month/$36.25 a visit for single –$175 single/$200 couple a month/$21.88 a visit for Biweekly single –$200 single/$225 couple a month/$16.67 a visit for 3 visits/wk single Wellness  ’s ℠

12 Partnering with Nontraditional Partners –The United Way’s 2-1-1 Referral System A network of health and human service agencies to assist people in need. –The Life Butler and Beaver Programs A nonprofit organization to assist seniors 55 and over with various health and humans services. A dual referral program for each entity. Wellness  ’s ℠

13 Future Expansions Possible –Monitoring Blood Glucose Levels in the home –Performing 12 Lead ECGs in the home and then sent on to PCPs –Performing Blood Draws in the field for lab work Wellness  ’s ℠
