Transportation Department
2
2 History Our present transportation department was fully active in the late 1950s. Prior to that, Ken-Ton contracted with Willy’s Bus Service to transport its students. In 1958, we had approximately 30 buses which were all parked inside the bus garage on Colvin Boulevard. Our drivers were mainly policemen and firemen and were exclusively male. We now have more female drivers than male drivers from very diverse backgrounds. For 2008-09, we have about 8,400 students enrolled in Ken-Ton of which more than 6,000 are transported.
