19 Real life example Due to fly home to London the following day, Michael as understandably in panic. He called the Assistance Centre for help. As an international banker, Michael travelled frequently. While in Moscow on a 3-day business trip, his money and passport got stolen. STOLEN PASSPORT AND WALLET International SOS contacted Michael’s company and they faxed a copy of his passport from his employee files. Additionally, the company authorised us to wire Michael 12,000 roubles ($400 AUD) in emergency funds 19

20 Real life example EAR INFECTION 20 Max, a Sales Manager, had a severe ear infection during a Sales Conference in Jakarta Max was referred to our clinic in Cipete, where he was reviewed by a doctor and prescribed medication. Max was in a lot of pain and developed a fever The doctor also advised that Max wouldn’t be able to fly home until he got better as he was unable to equalise the pressure in his inner ear. International SOS helped Max rearrange his flights and postpone his stay until he was fully recovered and fit to fly again.
