A Divided Land – › Mughal’s power was at a height, and many cultures moved there, when it crumbled, India was broken into many land parts. British Policies- › Within the early 1800’s, the British had new policies for education, work conditions, women’s positions within families, and road constructions.

Unpopular Moves- › They forces Sepoys to serve anywhere they want them to, either in the country, or over seas. The Hindu religions couldn’t because of their religion. On To Delhi- › The Sepoys rose against the British soldiers and killed many. The Aftermath- › In 1858, the parliament ended the rule over India, and gave it to British to rule.

An Unequal Partnership › Britain built roads, and put factory made goods all over Population & Famine. › There were many getting sick, and then medicine came out. As the population grew, many became hungry. Benefits of British Rule › The lower class people even gained from British ruling.

Ram Mohun Roy › He combined all types of religions. › Ram banned child marriages, and sati. Western Attitudes › Many people disagreed with the Indian culture, but some obtained the ways.

Indian National Congress › In 1885 Indian’s made a National Congress, but some chose to go Anti-British. Muslim League. › The Hindu’s and Muslim’s worked together, but the Muslim’s thought that the Hindu people would try to over run. Looking Ahead. › In 1947, they were free. Lots of blood was lost.
