Contact admin@isgb.org and tell Sarah that you attended Instructors Seminar this year. Include your log-in name. You will receive an email that says you now have access to that part of the Forum!

5 PREPPING FOR YOUR CLASS Determine length of class Curriculum components—Instructors Guide Practice (if possible) Find place to teach Market your class

6 LENGTH OF CLASS 3-4 Hour – Time for basics only – Not as much time to practice 6-8 Hour – More time for basics and practice – Can add some “bells and whistles” 2 Day – Lots of time for practice, set up, etc.

11 GETTING STARTED Greetings, beads, and glass choices Waivers and class payment Introductions Dipping mandrels, cleaning glass –and— Flip Chart (see next two slides) 20-25 minutes

12 Flip Chart—Page 1 Encourage students to just listen; taking notes is not necessary because all the information they need is on the cd in their packet. As you plan your “lecture,” remember that adults like to know why, but don’t overwhelm your students with too much technical information.

13 Flip Chart – Last Page Adult learners like to know what to expect. Previewing the class sets expectations for both the student and the instructor.
