What can I do with JCPS Online that is worth the time required to set up the site? organize your lessons, have your files at your fingertips, integrate technology into your Media Center, allow parents to see what your students are doing, share photos, control student “browsing”, manage student records

Use the student log-in name to access the Media Center content folder. You will need to have your Technology Resource representative help you with downloading your students. Recommended: have all students in your school enrolled. You will be able to organize your students afterwards, as well as, adding new students.

The folders will be listed in the default vertical listing, with no icons. To create a personalized look, click the “PERFERENCES” option.

Explore these options to create you own look. Change one option at a time to see how your folders look. Choose who you want to see the folder. Author only- means students can’t see or access your Folder. I keep lesson plans this way. You can also set up so the 4 th graders only see, the 4 th grade folder, photo folder, etc. Advanced Settings: Folder View Set the “GRID VIEW” 1-6 across works best.

When creating your folder, the default SETTINGS is the NORMAL selection. This is what you have to work with. The tabs I’ve used is the ACCESS ( who is allowed in) and ASSIGNMENT. Always select SAVE.

This is the ADVANCED setting. You can change the SEQUENCE or order of your folders. This is where you upload a graphic icon for the folder.

1.To upload a graphic, click on the ICON URL browse button. 2. Choose the BROWSE button under UPLOAD a FILE. 3.This takes you to your files where you can select a graphic.

Select a graphic from your clipart folder, Personal photos etc. Select the graphic, it appears in the UPLOAD FILE window below. Select the UPLOAD FILE button to add to CONTENT LINKS. Google Widget Clock-

Once your clip art appears in the Browse window, click Upload File.

What else can I do? Using the ADVANCED setting, once you’ve created a folder, follow similar steps to add links. Use the GRADEBOOK to get data on your students work. Use ROSTER EDITOR to look up new students, add them to your class lists.
