5. 5 Vidzeme Planning Region (VPR) VPR is regional administrative authority, responsible for planning and implementation of regional policies, coordination and cooperation between regions municipalities and regional development. VPR was established in 2006. VPR services at regional level: Ensuring the regional planning; Representation of regional development interests in national and international level; Support to regional development and partnership; Coordinating the work of local governments; Implementation of specific functions (strategy for the period - public transport planning in the region); Implemenation of various projects ( Next slides); Since 2009 have a own cultural specialist who help consultating to the local municipal culture specialist un compile information about the culture products in the regions.
