Amazing Animals A WebQuest for 3rd Grade Science

How long is an elephant’s lifespan.? In what habitat does a koala live? This unit is designed for grade three and will provide a fun opportunity to learn about animals and their habitats. Your animals must be approved by your teacher before starting. You will need to find facts about your animal and record them on the data form sheet. The Process First, you will be assigned a partner.

The habitats to choose from are swamps, deserts, mountains, forests, arctic tundra, grasslands, ponds, and the ocean. These two animals must be approved by your teacher before you start your research. The Process You must work together to fill out the Data form sheet about both animals. data form Once you have your information, you must find a photo picture of your animal to include on your poster along with a drawing of its habitat to include on a poster. The research and poster should take one week to complete. This lesson can be expanded by having students compare and contrast two animals and their habitat.
