WHY ARE WE DOING THIS? GMA requires 20 year population targets every 10 years, based on State forecasts CPPs also require 20 year job targets, based on PSRC forecasts

TARGET PRINCIPLES Shared responsibility Extend existing targets Maintain urban growth area Promote jobs/ housing balance Housing follows jobs Reflect market trends and land capacity Targets are planning commitments, not quotas Infrastructure needed to achieve targets
