5 Evaluating Websites (8 minutes) Use your 5Ws checklist to evaluate the website that is on your desk. Work with your group to write at least one statement for each “W” explaining your evaluation. – For example: WHO = This website is NOT reliable because it does not list the _____________. – or: WHO = This website IS reliable because it tells me ___________________ about the author.

According to an article by Clemente Lisi, the countdown has started for the best soccer players in the world “to be crowned world champion.” The U.S. National Soccer Player’s website claims that Landon Donovan “is the USA’s leading scorer.”

13 In an article titled “100 Things You Should Know About the World Cup,” the author states that “nearly half the planet’s population” watched the last World Cup. Landon Donovan is the USA’s leading scorer at World Cups with 5 goals in 12 games over three tournaments. The USA’s best finish at the World Cup was third in 1930. It has been over 70 years since an American team has finished in the top three at World Cup competition, but they have “qualified for every World Cup finals since 1990,” according to Lisi.
