 By Shalayne Janis

Cody Wyoming Family Reunion  Family has always been a huge part of my life. This was a great trip that brought us all closer together and brings us back to where it all started.  In the edited photo (on top) I used the focal b/w tool. I thought it was really cool because it shows the tan color of the tile and then all of our feet in black and white. Then I used film grain to make it look a little older and give it a cool feel.

For the edited picture (on the left) I cropped it a little and used a little fill light to brighten it up and added a little shadow to add some contrast.

For this picture I added some fill light to make it slightly brighter, then I increased the shadows as well then just make it good old black and white.

In this picture I cropped it to focus on us a little more. Then I used the I’m feeling lucky tool and added some highlights and shadows to add some contrast. Not a huge difference but just slightly.

I have to admit that this is probably my least favorite of the pictures I edited but you always get that sometimes! In this photo I used the focal black and white to focus on the color of our faces and because the background is already pretty bland it just highlights us a little more. This edited photo however definitely can use a lot of work.

This picture was pretty fun to edit. I used the fix tool, I don’t remember the exact name, but he had something in his mouth so I used the tool to make it not be there! Then I used fill light to make the picture a little bit brighter.

This photo is a very special one. I thought that starting with sepia is good because it gives a good old gentle feel to it. Then I used the soft focus to blur it a little to focus on him (by the way his name is Dover and Dover is my mothers maiden name) and part of the grave. It is very subtle but I think powerful.

This photo is another one that I edited very slightly. I added some fill light and shadows to create contrast and make it a little sharper.

This was such a fun day, we found a little vintage shop and bought some old clothes and took some fun pictures. In editing this picture I didn’t have to do a lot. I used the focal black and white to emphasize the colors we were wearing and although the outside was already neutral colors it just adds a little more, I just love it.

Again, for this photo I did not have to do much. I loved the sepia with this picture though. I also added a little bit of fill light. I think the color gives it an old feel and I think it goes really well with the picture.

To start with this photo I cropped it. I wanted to get him out of the center of the picture without taking away the awesome background of looking up the rock. Then I added some fill light and shadows to make it more clear and get rid of the cloudy feel in it.

I just loved this picture so much because my adorable cousin just woke up and he is already pretty shy, but he was just standing by the fridge for the longest time with that blank look. This picture was a little more difficult to edit because it was taken by my phone, but I cropped it to focus more on him. Then I also cleared it up with fill light and shadows.

To start with this picture I cropped it to get the distracting objects out of it on the top and right side. Then I simply made it black and white.

With this picture I didn’t have to do any cropping. I just love everything about this picture, especially knowing who it is. I chose to use the saturation tool and put it on a low saturation but enough that you can still see some of the color. Then I added just a little fill light to make it slightly brighter.

This photo is another one of those that I just love. Her expression to me is priceless. I cropped it to focus more on her so there was less distraction from the rack. Then I just used classic sepia with a little fill light.

So many great times and memories to share with my family!
