HOW DOES IT WORK? 1. Set up a profile 2. Choose a target language 3. Set weekly goals At the end of the week you will be given a test that must be passed, if you don’t complete the test then you will retake it. This app makes learning a language more of a game than a lesson.
4
WHAT LANGUAGE DO YOU WANT TO LEARN? Spanish French German Italian Portuguese Dutch (Netherlands) Irish Danish Swedish Turkish For this example we will be using the online version. HOW DOES IT FIT IN WITH THE LACK CURRICULUM? Learning Centered Duolingo revolves on the principle that people using this app/site will be able to learn a language. It helps students learn on their own time making it more accessible with their learning schedule. Assessment Centered Students must set goals in which they need to meet. Duolingo makes students test their skills at the end of each unit If they do not complete the test than they will have to retake the unit. Every unit incorporates fun games that, if completed correctly, move the student further into the lesson plan

CONTINUATION… Community Centered Duolingo provides situations in which you see mistakes others have made so you don’t make the same It helps you understand other languages in order to break down barriers between people who don’t speak the same language You can see how other’s may have translated a sentence Knowledge Centered Duolingo shares a new way of learning a language for free to make people more knowledgeable about other cultures This is important because with no language barriers information can be shared easily Organizes content on skill level
