2 Threatened Species A threatened species may soon become endangered. Examples include the Newell’s Townsend’s Shearwater and the Green Sea Turtle.

3 Endangered Species An endangered species may soon become extinct. There are only a few of each endangered species left on earth. Examples include Humpback whale, Hawaiian Stilt, and Hawaiian Monk Seal.

4 Extinct An extinct species is one that is longer alive on earth. Extinction lasts forever. Examples include the Bali Tiger and dodo.
