J. Pérez-Lanzac & E. Beltrán (SANCO D3) 5 Co-ordination meetings with Member States SPS Committee in Geneva: at least 3 times/year. SANCO/D3 organise a meeting (3-4 weeks before) with SPS representatives of the MS (agriculture, health, trade). In the Agenda: the issues to discuss in SPS Committee, but also others SPS points (not for Geneva) that are of interest to MS: bilateral issues, relevant information, closed cases… 133 Committee is informed of the agenda of the SPS Committee.

J. Pérez-Lanzac & E. Beltrán (SANCO D3) 6 Developing countries are beginning to notify. Central & South America notify ¼ of all notifications. Chile as much as the EC.

J. Pérez-Lanzac & E. Beltrán (SANCO D3) 7 EC Member States notify measures in compliance with the procedure set by Directive 98/34 on Technical Regulations Information Exchanges (TRIS). SANCO controls compliance and prepares the notification.
