What is an e-Portfolio? It is the electronic version of the paper- based portfolio http://oldcomputers.net/pics/portfolio-hand.jpg

What are the advantages of an e-Portfolio over the paper version? It is easy to update information and to customise it for particular jobs The portfolio can be made accessible to employers Employers can view the information, and, if they wish, print it prior to an interview The portfolio is particularly useful for presenting certain types of information, such as videos

Does the e-portfolio have other uses? The portfolio can also serve as a site for sharing personal information with family and friends You can upload photos, blogs, videos and sound files for this purpose

E-Portfolio Programs Are there different types of e-portfolios? Yes. The program we will be using is called ‘Mahara’(think/thought in Maori) http://mahara.org/about

How does it work? Information is uploaded to Mahara, which stores it. You can grant access to different parts of the portfolio by sending links to employers and/or friends
