Electric Circuits 2.0 Presented by (Insert Name Here)
3
Electricity is… the flow of electrons.
4
An electron is a tiny particle that moves around the outside of an atom. Everything is made of tiny, tiny, things called atoms.
5
A circuit is … a path for electricity to follow. A circuit must be closed for the electrons to flow through it. If the circuit is open, the electrons cannot move through.
10
In a series circuit, everything is connected in a single path to the power source. If one light in the circuit goes off, everything else will go off, too.
13
In a parallel circuit, everything has its own pathway to the power source. If one light in a parallel circuit goes out, everything else will stay on.
17
Incandescent vs. LED Bulbs Incandescent bulbs have a small wire inside called a filament.
18
Electricity can move easily through materials called conductors. Some materials are called insulators. Insulators keep electricity from flowing.
19
Electricity can move easily through materials called conductors. Most metals are good conductors.
