Cartoons ✤ An interpretive picture which makes use of symbolism and most often bold and humorous exaggeration to present a message or point of view concerning people, events or situations. Objective: SWBAT create their own political cartoons to demonstrate understanding of the Black Plague.

Requirements for a good political cartoon: ✤ A clear message or point, based in fact (even if its a point of view/opinion). ✤ Humor from exaggeration, not just for comic effect, but to send a message about the characters(s). ✤ Characters should be recognizable to viewer. ✤ Cartoon should have a moral purpose to inform the viewer about an issue and allow for critical thinking Objective: SWBAT create their own political cartoons to demonstrate understanding of the Black Plague.
